Strong Roots, A Vibrant Future

The Mayfield Junior School of the Holy Child Jesus Strategic Plan

The Mayfield Junior School of the Holy Child Jesus Strategic Plan will guide us as we strengthen our foundation and build a vibrant future for our community. This plan is a commitment to our legacy, which was established by Venerable Cornelia Connelly and the Society of the Holy Child Jesus.

Guided by our Mission and the Goals of the Holy Child Network of Schools, this strategic plan focuses on four key elements, which represent our collective vision and a shared commitment to our students, faculty, staff, and families.

The plan ensures that our school will remain a place where students are challenged to become their best selves, guided by the enduring values of faith, service, intellectual curiosity, and excellence. We are preserving the strong roots of our past to build a vibrant future for generations to come as we embrace Cornelia's call to "meet the wants of the age."

As we approach our 100th anniversary on Euclid Avenue, we look ahead with hope, confidence, and renewed purpose. Our Strategic Plan — Strong Roots, A Vibrant Future — charts a thoughtful path forward.

Joe Scuito Head of School

1. Promote Holy Child Catholic Identity and School's Mission

We will continue to foster a vibrant faith community of belonging, focused on the dignity of all, and expanding opportunities for meaningful engagement with the broader community and within the Holy Child Network.

2. Elevate Mayfield's distinct Holy Child education and academic excellence

To ensure that Mayfield's academic program remains responsive, mission-aligned, and student-centered, we commit to strengthening the structures that support curriculum, instruction, assessment, and growth. Grounded in our Holy Child identity and guided by the Portrait of a Graduate, these strategies aim to build future-ready skills, foster equity, and promote the well-being of all learners in a joyful environment.

3. Invest in Faculty and Staff Professional Growth and Well-Being

We're dedicated to attracting, developing, and retaining top talent. This involves strategic recruitment of a diverse faculty and staff, competitive salary and benefits, and proactive workforce planning, including a Holy Child Training program, personalized growth plans, and clear organizational structures and roles for a supportive and efficient environment.

4. Advance Institutional Sustainability

Through integrated efforts to propel Mayfield's long-term strength and position as a leading Catholic independent school, we are deeply committed to evolving and sustaining our institutional infrastructure, ensuring our campus and all its systems remain flexible.

Remember that it is not sufficient to have begun well; we must also persevere with courage and finish with resolution.
