School Leadership
Meet Head of School Joe Sciuto
With over three decades in faith-based and independent school education, Joe became Mayfield's Head of School in 2019 as an experienced and passionate administrator and innovator. Before joining the Mayfield community, Joe served eight years as Head of School at Providence High School in Burbank. Before Providence, Joe served as Upper School Principal at The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks. He began his career in education as a teacher, coach, and eventually dean at Campbell Hall School, a K-12 Episcopal independent day school in Studio City. A Southern California native, Joe received his early education in Catholic schools, earned his bachelor's degree in English from California State University, Northridge and holds a master's degree in American Studies from Pepperdine University.
Joe's wife, Marcie, is the founder and Executive Director of the non-profit, Calibrate, which provides social emotional support to children and adults in underserved areas of South L.A. and beyond. Marcie and Joe have two sons who both live in Northern California, Vincent, a graduate of the University of California, Davis, and Anthony, a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara. Joe and Marcie love hiking, the beach, and traveling, and of course, their lives center around the wonderful community of Mayfield Junior School.
