Graduation 2026 - Alumni Welcome

"Middle School Innovation Support Specialist. It's a long title for a simple role. Essentially, I work with teachers to grow student learning through the use of technology and innovative practices. It is also a future-forward role. The idea that there is the "old" way of teaching and now we have a "new" way of teaching is a binary I don't subscribe to. Innovation doesn't look any one way, though new technologies often become a part of it.

One significant project we've implemented is a computer science collaboration with the science team that utilizes blended learning. This is a teaching style that asks the question, What if we tried to meet each student where they are? This approach adds to Mayfield's rich tapestry of teaching methodologies, providing additional pathways for students to engage with science and technology.

By offering diverse learning experiences, we can reach more students in ways that resonate with their individual learning styles."

"Academic strength is important, but it's not the only measure of success. I've seen students who followed the "perfect academic path," but later struggled to find direction, purpose, or impact in their lives. Which is why Holy Child Goal 6 resonates with me.

When my son was in kindergarten, we were on a Disney cruise, and an event host asked the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up. He said, "I want to be a cake." This year, he is in 5th grade, and I asked him the same question. And this time, he said, without hesitation: "I want to invent technology that can change people's lives.

"That change meant a lot to me. Not because it sounds impressive—but because it reflects how he now sees himself in the world. To me, that is the outcome of a Whole Child education.

So when I think about Goal 6, I don't view it as just a framework or a checklist. I view it as a long-term investment in who our students become—not just what they achieve, but the value they create in the world. And that, to me, is something far more meaningful than any report card."
